"'I know it that I'm no longer a piece of corn (psychosis, my note), but a human, but does the chicken know it?' It means simply your interpretation didn't touch the real in the page. And it's not enough for you to know that there is no God; God himself, in the fiction, has to accept his non-existence. So when Jesus complains on the cross just before dying that 'father, why have you forsaken me', is he joking, or is he serious? How could God himself believe that he is abandoned by himself? The voice which says 'father, why have you forsaken me' is not as it were the true Christ, but his animal soul; it's total obscenity (needs reconciliation from Hell, my note)." - Slavoj Žižek in "The Žižek Times", publ.
